CGNet Focus - Impact Stories

Every so often this blog will zoom in on a particular aspect of CGNet's operations, giving you guys a chance to see CGNet looks from the inside.

You may have noticed that every few days an 'Impact' report will appear on our regular website feed and voice recording service:

An example of an 'Impact' report: this one is about hand pumps in Madhya Pradesh

Unlike the rest of CGNet's published content, these do not publicize a problem that may have gone unheard: instead, they are a way for us to keep track of the success CGNet has at effecting real change in the communities it serves. We don't mean to just blow our own horns for the sake of it though (although, of course, receiving proof that all our hard work has not gone unrewarded is always great).

Instead, impact reports are important for the people calling in too: sometimes reporting a problem can be an intimidating thing to do and, naturally, people can be skeptical about trusting a service based far away.

Impact reports help show callers that CGNet is worth caring about which, in turn, does a number of things: it helps increase the numbers of callers, it gives a moral boost to our regular contributors and - probably hardest to measure but perhaps the most important benefit of all - lets people know that positive change is possible.
