Ratnesh Mishra leads a discussion |
It was a chilly morning here in Bhopal but all of the
participants of the second line workshop were keen to get started. This event
is for the most promising and interested guys we have met in our field
workshops. They get invited here and are trained to take a more active role in
CGNet activities, whether as more dedicated contributors, moderators or
contacts for local networks.
For this workshop participants have come from Odisha,
Jharkhand, Andhra and MP. There are a few difficulties: a few of the guys only
speak Telugu, for instance, but that is not an issue as polyglot wunderkind
Ramesh Kasa, one of our staff here, speaks Telugu too.
Tomorrow we are also expecting a visit from a representative
from the Centre for Social Justice. This Gujarat based organisation is
dedicated to building awareness and capacity in the legal world all over India,
and are coming tomorrow to talk about grassroots interpretations of legal rights.
We’ll have more on that as it happens.
In other news, the Foreign Policy Magazine 100 Global
Thinkers award that our Director Shubhranshu Choudhary recently collected from
Washington has made it made to Bhopal. Here it is, stylishly modeled by Mr
Kasa.
